November surely has arrived with a bang. So much to tell you and not really sure where to begin. Good, bad and great thingsso I guess I had better start.
Rosie the Suffolk went to Ledbury to receive some training from Mike Paddock, I stayed tgere fir a couple of days to make sure that she settled and I also helped do some logging.
The Saturday was too wet to work in the forest so we spent some time with the Falconry lads who were hunting pheasant in the forest. It was the most amazing feeling to have a beautiful bird of prey land on your arm. Fantastic day but I did pass on the pheasant and sausage pasta for dinner.
Sunday and Monday working in the woods, I pulled out a few tonnes of wood and loved every minute. Mike let me work with a greenish horse called Burberry who is very sweet and keen to work so the day went well.
Rosie has stayed over there and I came home but she is doing really well.

College - well the teachers appeared to think that I was something of a bimbo and asked some really stupid questions. Do you know the difference between clay and sand soil Niamh and informed me that I was one of those equine girls which I think was an insult. So what do you do when you are being put down, prove the idiots wrong. I am now a couple of weeks into the course and enjoying it but mainly because of the people on it, not the course itself.
Still havent moved and I am wondering if we ever shall but again that itsnt important, getting the family settled is top of the list, oh and so was the trip to Belgium
Mum and I had a wonderful great aunt, well she was my great, great aunt and she had two brothers who were killed in Belgium during WWI. So we decided that a trip to find their graves and then to Ypres was needed.
Dad found one of the cemeteries by accident down a small narrow country lane at the side of a barn and the other one was quite easy to locate. Dad had an idea of taking some soil from their home to place with their graves so I contacted the town clerk at Bourne and asked for some soil from the cemetery their family was buried in. Dad wrote a little poem and we also printed pictures off of the entire family, framed them and placed those by their graves. We were at Uncle Ernests grave at 11.00hrs on the 11/11/14 which was pretty special I think.

The Menin Gate was amazing at 20.00hrs on the 11/11/14 there were bands from the Fire Brigade and English Police and Scots Pipes. The streets came to life humming along with the music to Abide With Me and Danny Boy and all the British sang God Save The Queen, I dont think there was a dry eye around. Dad got quite emotional but Remembrance week does that to him.
Unfortunately, we got home and things went down the pan big style. Dont know if it will get back to normal but lets hope so.
