Please anyone who reads my blog, I am asking for your help and support.
As you know Veterans are facing prosecution for incidents in Northern Ireland over forty years ago. How can anyone who has a brother, sister, mother, father, aunt or uncle who has served in the Armed Forces or is still in the Armed Forces accept this persecution.
Every man or woman who signed on the dotted lines does so and pledges his allegiance to the Monarch and the Country so why is the Country letting them down. Who would join the forces in this day and age join up knowing that if you kill someone whilst serving you can face prosecution and even imprisonment.
People in high places want their pound of flesh, but expect our troops to take to the streets to defend us from potential terrorist attacks, but if they are faced with taking out a terrorist will they face a murder charge.
WAKE UP PLEASE AND PUT PEN TO PAPER PLEASE, PLEASE
One voice can be ignored, how can the Politian’s who are meant to serve the public, ignore the voices of many. All I am asking is ten minutes of your time and the price of a stamp. Ten minutes writing a letter to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and sharing my post asking as many of your friends to do the same and 60p for a stamp,
Remember, each letter must genuinely come from the person named and must be addressed and dated. Your letter is to Rt Hon James Brokenshire, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. His office must reply to your letter.

See below a sample letter of my own, you can copy it, add or take away text but let your point be known. I come from a Northern Ireland Veterans Family, what it it was my Dad or my Grandad they came knocking for next, Imagine how Dennis Hutchings family are feeling. We are a strong nation, we have proved that with two world wars and terrorist attacks from the IRA and ISIS, we will not be defeted and our voices will be heard.

Dear Mr Brokenshire
I am writing to express my utter horror and disappointment by the ongoing prosecution of Mr Dennis Hutchings under PPS’s ‘historical investigations’ program.
Mr Hutchings incident in Northern Ireland took place 45 years ago and has been investigated on several occasions since. He was exonerated of any wrong doing every time.
Recently he appeared in court in Armagh where the Judge threw out the charge for attempted murder only for your Director of Public Prosecutions to have this charge reinstated along with the lesser charge of grievous bodily harm.
You have stated that ‘criminal investigations are a matter for the police service of Northern Ireland who act independently of Government and Politicians'. I wish to challenge that statement; you can interfere when the law is shown to be used for malicious purposes. To suggest that a police service can operate without the oversight of the government is frankly ridiculous as it sets the police above the law. For the DPP to repeatedly seek a guilty verdict on individuals who were serving the state and were previously investigated is malicious prosecution and infringes their human rights.
I believe that there is a political motive behind this prosecution that stems from Sinn Fein. This prosecution is morally wrong and is a test case for the future persecution of other former soldiers. This prosecution stems from a desire for revenge and you are duty bound to prevent such an abuse.
I call on you to stop this wicked and evil persecution now. If Mr Dennis Hutchings is found guilty then that verdict will weigh heavily on your shoulders for many years to come.
Every man and woman who joins the Armed Forces does so knowing that they will defend their Monarch and the Country with their lives, they know that they may be killed or seriously injured in action and for some, know that they in turn may have to take lives. We as a nation should be proud of our Servicemen, not persecuting them.
I look forward to your reply by return.
Yours sincerely
