Fill the jar with water, put the lid on and turn it upside down to make sure the jar is waterproof. Empty the jar and dry the lid
Decorate the lid, add ribbon if you want to. It is your snow globe so decorate it with whatever you think looks good.

Paper mache jars and money boxes
You will need
Lots of newspaper ripped up into strips
Flour, salt and water mix (1/2 cup of flour 1 cup of water and a pinch of salt)
or diluted PVA glue and water mix
Jar
Paint to decorate
Soak newspaper into glue or flour mix and lay strips over the jar until completely covered. When dry add three or four more layers. You must cover all the jar and go inside the top of the rim too.
Leave overnight to dry then decorate. When dry paint the jar with diluted PVA glue which will act as a varnish.
If you want you could add a ribbon to the top of the jar or bottle or even bead and feathers and fill with pot pourri, sweets or even a tea light. They will make lovely Christmas presents.

Use the masking tape to position the legs and snout of the pig then cut the last cup into half to make his ears. Cut out a curly piece of card or use a piece of string to make his tail and attach with masking tape.
Cover everything with another couple of layers of paper mache and leave to dry overnight.
Ask someone to cut a hole along his back for the money to go in then paint or decorate and another hole under his tail so you can get the money out.
Leave to dry again before adding a diluted PVA glue as varnish.
You don't have to make a pig, you could make your money box into any animal you want, a monster or just a really cool shape.

Book marks
Bookmarks don't really have to be any shape or size but I have given you a couple of ideas.
You will need some strong card, paints, pencils, or things to glue on to decorate, ribbon
Get the shape that you want to use for your bookmark and make a hole at the top to place some ribbon or wool. Loop the ribbon through without making a knot.
Decorate your bookmark with words, pictures or anything you would like and when you are happy wrap it in some tissue and give to someone as a present.
You can also make bookmarks from felt material. Sew your design using back stitch or running stitch onto one piece of felt then using blanket stitch sew or glue another piece of felt to the back. This will hide the knots from the sewing.
If you are really clever, you could cut out a shape in strong card then cut out the same shape inside the first one leaving the top piece attached so it looks like a paper clip. This can be left plain and looks great, or you can decorate a larger paperclip. There are so many ways to make book marks that I cannot list them all
A really easy present and fun to make

Rock paper weights
This is a really easy idea that does not cost a lot to make. Find some flat pebbles, make sure they are clean. Draw out your idea first before painting them (acrylic paint is best). When your design is dry cover with a coat of PVA glue to act as a varnish. Simples
