Thursday morning Mum and Dad had a meeting in Hereford, so I asked them to drop me off in Ledbury to spend the day logging. Hoped to arrive for 08.00hrs but sat between junctions on the M6 for over 45 minutes, so I arrived in the forest aabout 08.45hrs.
Mum and Dad stopped for a quick cup of tea and then left for their meeting, but forgot to leave me any lunch or a drink lol. I think that their meeting went well and we moved more than expected for the day. Yay us! I was working with three horses which was great and I even managed to snap a chain which was pretty impressive so I was told.
The oldies then went to Trimpley so they could collect the Landrover as they had a feeling that the repairs on the viano would not be done properly. They were right on that oddly enough. Mum brought the landi back and Dad took the loan car back home to meet the person who was bringing the van back.
Mum arrived with biscuits, drinks, soup and loads of goodies, but we did not have the chance to eat anything. Mike decided to do some training with four young horses and we set off around the countryside with a team of cobs driving four abreast. He actually allowed me to drive, woooooohooooooo! It was really hard work concentrating but fantastic. When we got back to the forest it was dark, the landi had a flat tyre. So the tyre was changed thanks to Mike and we set off home - maximum speed of my Series III being 50mph.
Friday was the day from hell. The farrier was booked for 08.30hrs we arrived a couple of minutes late carrying bacon and sausages cooked to perfection. Horses seemed jumpy but all went ok till Mum and Trina went to fetch the heavies from the top field. Some idiot had threaded the electric tape through a hay feeder. Mum flipped. Told the landlord that we needed to move as this was unsafe and that destroying things was criminal damage. The landlord said well phone the police, so Dad did.
We were due to go to Trimpley early afternoon but that got put back till early evening. Mum and I went to look at a new yard, Dad spoke to the police and the landlord said that he thought the horses had pushed the feeder 50 feet to the fenceand that he did not think our field fairies were responsible for this and someone must have walked from the main road across all the fields to heavies fields. The minor fact that odd things have been happening for months and months and we are not the only people on the yard that it happens too.
Well we eventually set off and arrived in Trimpley about 20.00hrs unloaded the heavies and had tea.
Saturday morning we hitched up a delivery cart to Boudi and tried her around the yard, she behaved really well considering she hadnt been in a cart for maybe ten years. We then went to the harvest feastival parade with her, I drove her and Mum and Alison walked alongside with leadropes attached just in case. She was a star bless her. I can honestly say I was terrified but that was more in case something spooked her in the town centre.
Back to the field for a BBQ then on to the farm to feed and water the animals, all good.
We were meant to go to Hartlebury Castle on Sunday but with things going on at the yard we had to come home early. Dad was really snappy but it didnt help when Mum shouted about hating driving the lorry. She did apologise when she was on the twin track and said setting off in the lorry stressed her out and she was very sorry for shouting, dont think that made any difference to Dad as he vertually ignored us.
Came in and cleaned the house, then I went to bed, best place to be sometimes.
Well that was my weekend, hope yours was good too.
