Friday wasn't much fun but never mind. So Mum and I set off in the car to take a rabbit to his new home over in Lichfield. It was snowing really heavily but Mum said Daddy needed some space.
When we got there we checked that the rabbit was ok and Mum being old and potty opened the boot, out popped the rabbit and decided to hide under the car for about half an hour. We were trying to get him out on our hands and knees in 6 inches of snow. It was flipping freezing. Anyway, we managed to get him out and then put him back in the boot till his new owner got home. She had been stuck in traffic because of the snow for about two hours.
Well it gave Mum some time to spend with her friend and eventually the rabbit met his new owners.
Got a text off of Daddy asking if we would be home in time to take Joe out so we came straight back home through all the snow and rotten weather. The roads were full of cars that had been abandoned and some had skidded up banks and even turned road on the motorway. Mum lost it on the ice but managed to keep in her lane and slow down without scaring me toooooooo much. I would have paniced but Mum just laughed and said her legs felt like jelly.
A few months after I first met Daddy the weather was really bad and my brother wanted to go see his girlfriend who lived in the next village up a steep hill. (Oh yeah, I have a big brother called Danny. He is six years and one day older than me and his lives up north with his Nan and Grandad now).
Daddy's daughter was in the car with us as it was a snow day but poor Joe had gone into school because his was open. We got up this hill and Mum said to Daddy that she didn't feel safe and she wanted him to drive back. We were in our old Mitsi and even though Daddy had taught Mum to off road and she was quite good at it, she didn't feel safe driving back down this hill.
We were half way home and Daddy hit a patch of ice and the Mitsi went off the road and straight into a ditch; we were all at forty five degrees and Grace was sitting on top of me and the car had two wheels on top of the ditch and two wheels in to. What did Mum do; she giggled as she was nearly sitting on Daddy's knee and Daddy just put his foot down and drove straight back out of the ditch and onto the road. I love off roading with Daddy he is soooooo good. All Daddy did was grin and say "if ever that happens keep your foot on the grass and drive straigh back out again" Sometimes I wonder if he did it to show Mum what a good driver he is, but then again Daddy isn't a show off so maybe not.
Anyway that was years ago, back to now; we got back home and Joe went to his party and we collected him in a snow storm later. I think Daddy was worried because he was waiting up till we got home. It would have been nice if he could have got out the house because I know he likes to drive in this sort of weather and we all feel really safe when he is driving. I don't think Mum likes it too much but she never says.
Today we went to the yard as usual and we watched the Haflingers dig up clumps of grass out of the snow and move away, I am sure that they were doing it for all the horses as they kept moving, digging, moving and digging.
My puppy has discovered that she likes the snow and when we let the dogs out she doesn't want to come in. That is sooo weird because she hates getting wet and hates getting cold even more.
Billy my old cat seems to want to go out in the snow more than he usually does too so I am not really sure what is going on in his head.
Really tired today, spent some of the afternoon looking for farms then fell asleep on the settee till tea time. Bet I won't get to sleep tonight now.
Had a huge hug off Daddy today which was nice, I miss my cuddles when he isn't well. Think he has the hospital on Monday so maybe things will get better soon.
Well I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the snow even though it is a major pain.
