I have always loved fireworks and going to see displays; the smell of the bonfire and watching the faces of children as the sky lights up. I guess to me this is the start of winter of warm clothes, hot chocolate and marshmallows of course. But now I see another side of this fun filled night.
I have always known that animals should be kept safe inside the house, but until I met my Daddy I had never thought about the feelings of homeless people or of those veterans who have seen fighting, bombs and death
I am proud to say that my Daddy is a veteran and so what if he hides away on November 5th. He has his reasons, he has fought for our freedom and owes this country nothing. What man or woman who has agreed to lay down their life for their country should be looked upon as anything less than a hero
We try to make sure that our pets are all safe and this is the right thing to do. Fireworks are great fun, I went to a display on Satturday and love it but why do people have fireworks weeks before the 5th November, ok, I live in a community where we have loads of American families so fire works onth 4th July or Thanks Giving, but two weeks before and weeks after, why. People have the right to be free and I do understand that but do they ot think it would be nice to tell their neighbours even if it is to make sure the local pets are safe.
Sorry, my rant is over. Have a wonderful Bonfire Night everyone, stay safe and wrap up warm. Marshmallows and hot chocolate and jacket potatoes, and possibly an umbrella.
